Indications
- Amoebic dysentery and amoebic liver abscess
- Anaerobic infections including post-surgical prophylaxis
- Bacterial vaginosis and trichomoniasis
Dosage & administration
Adults
400–500 mg three times daily
Trichomoniasis
2 g as a single dose, or as prescribed
Duration
5–10 days depending on infection

Precautions
- Prescription-only medicine — dispense on a valid prescription.
- Avoid alcohol during treatment and for 48 hours afterwards.
- Use with care in hepatic impairment.
