Indications
- Dehydration from acute diarrhoea and vomiting
- Fluid and electrolyte replacement in children and adults
- Heat and exertion-related fluid loss
Dosage & administration
Children
Give frequent small sips after each loose stool, about 50–100 ml per stool
Adults
One sachet in 1 litre of clean drinking water; 200–400 ml after each loose stool
Preparation
Dissolve the whole sachet in the stated volume of clean water; discard unused solution after 24 hours
Doses are for general guidance only. Always follow the prescriber's instruction and the approved pack insert.
Precautions
- Do not add sugar, salt or flavouring to the prepared solution.
- Seek medical care if diarrhoea persists beyond 24–48 hours or if there are signs of severe dehydration.
